In regards to the folder /Free_For_All/TheStrand-SCRAPTRACKS/

I have uploaded a bunch of tracks that The Strand is not
planning on using, for a possible collaborative effort. Many of them have scrap vocals, and
unfinished parts, or just may not be in a genre that pertains to our current
fans. If you are interested in a
particular track, email me which song you would like to work on (dave@strandland.com)
and I may be able to get you a remix kit, with the individual parts for that
track.

Can you feel me?

Our theme is "Can you feel me?" - the feeling of being disconnected and wanting to be heard. Tell me what you think of regarding these couple questions:

1). What does it feel like to be disconnected? (you can describe in words, list some songs that give you that feeling, list some art or pictures that describe it, or just get creative and send me something)

2). If you got the chance to be heard by the world, what would you say? (i.e. what would be the reason you say, "can you feel me?")

Event Purpose

The designers of the Human Collage all have one thing in common: we all want to be heard and to be felt. The theme of the debut event is, "Can you feel me" - the feeling of being disconnected and wanting to be heard. Through the concept of collage, we have created an avenue whereby disconnected artist can collect and inspire each other.

Artists and musicians of Phoenix live in a vacuum of innovation. We are all amidst under-appreciated talent. We are disconnected and are pushing our way through each other to rise to the top. The local music and art scene as we know it suffers from a creative drought.

We can most likely expect music to degenerate into monkeys with drum machines. Bands compete with each other for the numbers pulled at the door. Artists strive to prove that they are exclusive and greater than their neighbors. Artists and musicians alike commit creative suicide.

Artists and musicians from all parts of the Phoenix metropolitan community, Tucson and as far as Austin, Texas have united through the Human Collage to concentrate creativity in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Through the Human Collage, we generate the potential for artists and musicians to be connected and inspire each other. We are committed to creating a space for artists and musicians to fully express themselves and to truly be felt by their thirsting community.

Possible Sponsors

Sponsors????? Person to Person is probabely a good way to go.

Urban clothing stores and music stores would be places to hit up.
(Audio Zone, F.Y.E, Hair J's Barber shop, Hot topic, K-Momo, Ragz, Shiekh Shoes, Spencers, Underground Station) and thats just the stores at my local mall.

Event Location

Highest priority right now is to determine a location for the event in November (tentatively Friday, November 6th). We have some ideas, but we need more. We need a place that will hold at least 500 people. Here's some locations we've been looking into:

• Phoenix Art Museum
• Tempe Center for the Arts
• Icehouse - Downtown Phoenix
  
• Cherry Lounge - Tempe

Benefit Org

We need to choose the benefiting community for this first event. I've done a lot of research on organizations in the valley. One that I think is the best fit for our event is Alice Cooper's "Solid Rock" teen center.

The Rock "will provide after-school computers, reading, music, and other educationally needed programs along with sports and recreational activities...The Rock will cultivate a love of the arts, like musical instruments, voice, drama, and dance, to inspire and challenge kids to choose artistic excellence. There will be programs that teach teens about sound board mixing, lighting, staging and production."

Not only will it be a good fit since the purpose is to inspire artistic excellence, but we may have an opportunity to get extra publicity to promote the event.
