Possible Sponsors

Sponsors????? Person to Person is probabely a good way to go.

Urban clothing stores and music stores would be places to hit up.
(Audio Zone, F.Y.E, Hair J's Barber shop, Hot topic, K-Momo, Ragz, Shiekh Shoes, Spencers, Underground Station) and thats just the stores at my local mall.

Event Location

Highest priority right now is to determine a location for the event in November (tentatively Friday, November 6th). We have some ideas, but we need more. We need a place that will hold at least 500 people. Here's some locations we've been looking into:

• Phoenix Art Museum
• Tempe Center for the Arts
• Icehouse - Downtown Phoenix
  
• Cherry Lounge - Tempe

Benefit Org

We need to choose the benefiting community for this first event. I've done a lot of research on organizations in the valley. One that I think is the best fit for our event is Alice Cooper's "Solid Rock" teen center.

The Rock "will provide after-school computers, reading, music, and other educationally needed programs along with sports and recreational activities...The Rock will cultivate a love of the arts, like musical instruments, voice, drama, and dance, to inspire and challenge kids to choose artistic excellence. There will be programs that teach teens about sound board mixing, lighting, staging and production."

Not only will it be a good fit since the purpose is to inspire artistic excellence, but we may have an opportunity to get extra publicity to promote the event.

Any thoughts?

Event Theme

We need to determine a theme for the event so that all the music and art we produce can be focused on a common "message". The theme should be powerful so everyone can connect with it. The theme should be generic enough so that we can describe many aspects of it. In our last meeting, Sunday, we discussed, and this was the best idea we have yet:

"Can you feel me?" - the feeling of being disconnected and longing to be heard

interviews

i'm going to be interviewing and conducting all material for this experiment...

1. i will give all possible contributors an interview via phone call or meet them face to face...

2. based on that interview they will determine what opportunities are open and decide how much they want to contribute.

3. MEMBERS - IF YOU GET LOST, FEEL STUCK, GET FRUSTRATED, ETC. CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY!!!! i will help in any way i can.

Collaboration

I've been trying to figure out how we are going to effectively collaborate if we cannot all meet at the same place at the same time each week. We need to make sure everyone remains "plugged in". Here's a couple of ideas:

1. online collaboration through the website - file sharing, forum/scratchpad, planning, etc.
2. teleconferencing - if we can't all meet up at the same place, perhaps the same time each week would work over the phone. We could all be online and check out the webpage
3. person to person - we can meet up with another member and work on stuff and keep conversations going over the phone.
4. team meeting - figure out a time and place that works for everyone

I think 1 and 2 would work out nicely if we can figure out a time that works for everyone.
