Event Location
Highest priority right now is to determine a location for the event in November (tentatively Friday, November 6th). We have some ideas, but we need more. We need a place that will hold at least 500 people. Here's some locations we've been looking into:

Tempe Center for the arts seems like a good fit, its theater fits 600 people. Its stage is a good size, I dont think we want to have to squeez on a stage.
ReplyDeleteInfo- $1080-$1350 for the theater
25% deposit.
Tempe Center for the Arts has the 6th of November open.
ReplyDeletei'm for any options except cherry, their layout is not so good... tempe center 4arts sounds promising and affordable
ReplyDeleteTempe Marketplace has an outside stage. It's right in front of Dave and Buster's and a bunch of other clubs. It would be very difficult to manage tickets, but it might be a good place to draw a crowd.
ReplyDeleteI'm def partial to a Phoenix Art Museum, Arizona Science Center, or Tempe/Mesa Center for the arts venue.
ReplyDelete- Pros to downtown locations: can correspond to First Friday event...draws larger crowds (in target audience) who will already be in location. I don't see a conflict of interest here.
- Other locations: Stand alone evets, will need to draw crowd on our own.
- Either way, I don't see this event as being held on a stage, but rather in the round...and in a place that sets the stage for an experssion of art
Sticking with the downtown location so we can benifit from the First Friday Crowd...here is my progress so far:
ReplyDeleteThe NO can do List (I tried to get these, but they were already booked).
- Phoenix Art Musem
- Science Center
- Herberger Theater
- Mercado
The MAYBE LIST, locations still up for consideration:
- The Ice House
- Heard Museum
- Arizona Center, the Grotto
- ASU Downtown- Plaza Area
- Downtown Library
Pictures to follow...when I figure out how to post them :)
